UNITED IMMIGRANTS

The United Immigrants membership service provides members with access to a network of dedicated and professional attorneys to represent members during their deportation case.

United Immigrants is a risk management company with a focus on legal representation and guidance for immigrants and a mission to keep families united.

The United Immigrants (UI) app helps to keep control over the situation in case of detention and get appropriate representation from a thoroughly vetted, licensed attorney.

The Project Team

A team consisting of a Project Manager, iOS Developer, Android Developer and QA Engineer.

Technologies used

Swift, Kotlin, Google Maps SDK

The Challange

United Immigrants reached out to Cruxlab for development of a set of native mobile applications for iOS and Android platforms based on the provided design. The key features of the app are immediate notification of enlisted persons, location tracking and video recording. Both location and videos may be instantly shared with the selected contacts. Location should be tracked continuously, including in the background mode.

Our impact

Cruxlab’s team worked in close integration with United Immigrants’ team that handled backend development to guarantee streamlined development process.

Our engineers implemented all the functionality of the application including Google Maps integration, location tracking, video recording and sharing, alert sending. During each iteration we performed various types of testing to ensure high quality of the code.

The Solution

The app contains a custom-built main screen divided into two sections. The first one lets users send alert to their selected contacts in case of being detained with further video recording. The video recording feature was implemented with custom pickers built on Swift and Kotlin.

In the second section members can report raids they witnessed. The information will be available to all users in the Activity section of their profile.

Google Maps have been integrated in both sections so that a user’s location can be shared while sending alert as well as included in the raid report.

The Result

The app has been successfully built for iOS and Android devices using native technologies according to the United Immigrants’ requirements.

Results received positive feedback from the customer, and currently, the UI app is in the final stage of preparation for publishing to iOS App Store and Google Play.
